Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) has unveiled what it calls “the world's most advanced microchip”: the 2-nanometer (nm) chip. This tiny yet powerful component is set to revolutionize consumer electronics by making devices faster and more energy-efficient.​

The more transistors a chip has, the better its performance. TSMC's new 2nm chip increases transistor density by about 15% compared to its predecessor, the 3nm chip.
