To celebrate Earth Day 2025, Intertek colleagues across the U.S. once again stepped up for the Annual Trash Tag Challenge, uniting around a shared commitment to sustainability. From local parks and rivers to office and laboratory sites, teams worked to clean up trash and reduce plastic pollution—efforts that contribute to healthier habitats, improved biodiversity, and safer environments for both wildlife and people. These hands-on activities often spark even broader environmental action in the communities where we live and work.

Across the country, our colleagues shared inspiring stories and photos of their Earth Day efforts, highlighting the many ways small actions can create a lasting impact.

Bozeman, Montana & Denver, Colorado
The Wisetail team organized several Earth Day activities in both locations. In Denver, colleagues joined an Open Space Stewardship Project in partnership with Denver Parks & Recreation, refreshing a gravel path and cleaning up trash around a pollinator garden in Village Place Park. Meanwhile, in Bozeman, team members participated in a community clean-up with the City of Bozeman, collecting trash from streets and local parks.

Cincinnati, Ohio
The Caleb Brett team hosted a tree planting and office beautification event, contributing to a greener, more welcoming workplace.

Coquitlam, British Columbia
Intertek’s Kevin Penner joined more than two dozen volunteers for a backcountry clean-up organized by the Four-Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia. The team cleared truckloads of debris from Rocky Point Recreation Site near Stave Lake, creating a cleaner, safer space for summer visitors.

Houston, Texas
Thirteen volunteers from our Woodlands office came together for a park clean-up at Meadowlake Park, coordinated by our Human Resources and Sustainability teams.

New Orleans, Louisiana
The Caleb Brett team celebrated with a full “Earth Week” lineup, including a green-themed lunch, planting day with trees and take-home garden kits, and a community clean-up. They also added two new recycling bins to their office to support long-term sustainability efforts.

San Antonio, Texas
In March, 23 colleagues from our Transportation Technologies team joined the annual Basura Bash, San Antonio’s largest single-day waterway clean-up. They tackled the Zarzamora Creek tributary, removing debris that pollutes local water supplies and harms ecosystems. In a heartwarming twist, one Intertek family also adopted a puppy they found during the clean-up—proving that their efforts made a difference in more ways than one.

York, Pennsylvania
The maintenance and front desk teams at our York laboratory beautified their site by removing litter and planting flowers, reinforcing pride in both workplace and planet.

Every act of service—big or small—supports our collective mission to Build Back Ever Better.
