Since its launch in 2019 by Amazon and Global Optimism, The Climate Pledge has aimed to help companies hit net-zero emissions globally by 2040, ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement.

It’s already making headway. Amazon reports it matched 100% of its electricity use with renewables and improved its carbon intensity, thanks to The Climate Pledge framework.

More than 550 companies around the world have signed on, collaborating across sectors to tackle climate change together. The Pledge has supported ten ongoing projects, proving it’s much more than a promise.

One standout effort is transforming the apparel and footwear industry in India by pushing suppliers toward renewable energy, led by brands like ASOS and Levi’s. The project’s success in India is paving the way for wider expansion across the Asia-Pacific.

Another game changer: the Laneshift-India Zero Emission Freight Project. By testing electric freight trucks along highways and pairing them with charging infrastructure through the JOULE initiative, it’s setting up a blueprint for cleaner logistics.

What’s impressive is how tangible these efforts are. They’re not distant green plans—they’re projects on the ground targeting sectors with real impact. That’s the power of The Climate Pledge: practical ambition, shared responsibility, and proof that a low-carbon future can start today.
