Some of the world’s biggest food companies are betting big on the future of farming. McDonald’s, PepsiCo, Unilever, Danone, and Ahold Delhaize (the parent company behind grocery chains like Food Lion and Giant) are all stepping up support for regenerative agriculture across the U.S. and Canada.

The goal is to help farmers shift to practices like cover cropping, smarter grazing, and less tilling. These methods build healthier soil, trap carbon, and cut emissions, all while improving long-term yields. McDonald’s alone is investing more than $200 million over the next seven years to bring regenerative practices to 4 million acres. PepsiCo aims for 10 million acres by 2030, and Danone is targeting a 30% cut in methane emissions.

It’s a reminder that climate action is a partnership that begins at the source and extends through consumption.
