Over the last several decades Cape Cod, a mostly sand and gravel arm off the coast of Massachusetts, has seen seemingly continuous develop and building of house, commercial space, golf courses, resorts of all manner. So much so that the effects are appearing in the water, degrading and damaging the very thing that makes The Cape so popular.
One small organization, Massachusetts Oyster Project, has begun implementing a plan to help clean up and improve the health of the water by restoring oyster reefs and letting oysters filter and clean the water.
While a small step, it is certainly an important one.
