Nzambi Matee is a Kenyan engineer and head of Gjenge Makers Ltd., a social enterprise that produces sustainable low-cost construction materials made of recycled plastic waste. Nzambi was honoured with the United Nations Environment Programme's 2020 Young Champions of the Earth prize, recognizing outstanding environmental leaders from the public and private sectors. The Young Champions of the Earth prize is the leading initiative to engage youth in tackling the world's most pressing environmental challenges.
