Some say leaders are born, others believe leaders are made....I think we are all born with the ability to be a great leader if we so choose but it is not without putting in the work.

I have had the opportunity to "grow up" in my current role, which has its benefits however it leaves you extremely exposed, something that I worried about time and time again. As you mature in your career and learn the ins and outs you are also left open and vulnerable to all those around you to see you fall, get back up, fall again, and eventually succeed (if all goes to plan).

With that I have been lucky to be mentored and guided by many amazing leaders, colleagues, and direct reports who have encouraged me, corrected me, pushed me, and advised me all to be a better leader and person. This has helped shape who I am today. Not all days are an A+, not all days do I make the right decision every time, but I can say every day I do try to do my best because you never know who you may be inspiring. So be humble, take constructive criticism, be agile, remember it is OK to make mistakes because without doing so we can not learn from them.

The great Socrates once said "the only true wisdom is knowing that you know nothing".... I only wish he ended that statement with "and that is absolutely fine".

Have a great week everyone!
