As i lose my sight, I have become dependent on assistive technology to make the web accessible to me. I use screen reader, it reads the text on the screen to me and combined with a keyboard and a whole list of keyboard shortcuts, I can navigate the web without looking at the screen. Most of the web is not fully accessible with a screen reader, many sites have just enough information available to the screen reader to be able to do a small amount of the functionality the site is inntended to provide.

The 19th of May is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, there has been a massive improvement in the 11 years it has been celebrated, but there is so much more to be done.
