Her Majesty's passing comes with great sadness, but what I was not expecting was for my four year old to pick up on what he was hearing from the news or my husband and I talking with him in ear shot.The Queen is a prominent character on Peppa Pig and in many Paddington Bear stories that he falls asleep to most nights. That coupled with the adventures we took to Buckingham Palace while living in London, our boy had a connection with the Queen. This led us to the conversation I did not think we would have this early on... his questions were so innocent but heart wrenching. Where did she go? Does she live with Papa now? Does Paddington get to visit her? Who will drive Peppa on the bus? When does she come back?

All very legitimate questions that I was not prepared to answer. I just told him she leveled up like in Sonic the Hedgehog and traded in her crown for a gold ring, just like Sonic. He accepted that and we will save the death conversation for later.
