The holiday's are a special time of year but for many the season brings deep sadness, anxiety, and depression. Remember when out and about, we never know what others are going through. So be kind to the grumpy sales person, offer a hug to a neighbor that may live alone or be sure to thank your postman or in my case Amazon delivery person. You never know when someone needs that extra smile.
“It is always better to say yes to the right things rather than say yes to doing everything like the Christmas party and baking something for this. If you prioritize your mental health by only saying yes to a few things, you won’t feel so stressed,” said Dr. Thomas Jensen. Dr. Jensen explained that seasonal depression is a real thing that many people have. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is caused by a change in the amount of daylight and darkness.
