Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is accelerating its journey to net zero with a powerful new addition: a large-scale solar farm that will supply clean energy directly to its UK manufacturing operations. This bold move is part of JLR’s broader strategy to decarbonize its supply chain and operations by sourcing at least one-third of its global energy needs from sustainable choices by 2030.
The solar farm, located near its Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, is expected to generate millions of kilowatt-hours annually - enough to power over 3,500 homes. For JLR, it means reducing reliance on fossil fuels and reinforcing its commitment to sustainable luxury.
This initiative is more than just energy - it’s about leadership. JLR is showing how legacy manufacturers can embrace renewable infrastructure to drive meaningful change. It’s a model for how industry can Build Back Ever Better: cleaner, smarter, and more resilient.
Every solar panel installed is a step toward a future where innovation and sustainability go hand in hand.
The delivery of our self-generated renewable energy projects across the UK and China is part of our strategic shift to gain greater control over our energy mix against a backdrop of uncertainty – reducing our reliance on volatile markets and global grid infrastructure.
