Intertek Minerals Townsville team recently participated in the Townsville Festival, which has grown far beyond the humble beginnings of the Townsville Marathon 50 years ago to include the addition of shorter events to create a real festival vibe and help to bring on the next generation of runners.

Proceeds from the fundraiser go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, North Queensland, who provide invaluable support for the seriously ill in the region, particularly for those from the more remote areas.

Tracey Grubba, Operations Coordinator at Intertek’s Minerals Laboratory in Townsville says “I really enjoy running, so I rallied up a small team to have a go. We did the run (walk) and then all went to brekkie together. Everyone had a great time – especially me. I was lucky to be able to compete in my own race as well as the corporate one”.

Well done Tracey and team on your community engagement for a great cause and getting active together! Who knows, next stop Milan, Italy 2026?
