"The Hong Kong Maritime Museum will be expanded to focus on marine and environmental issues while continuing its mission of showcasing the city’s history as a navigation hub."
"The centre, spanning 3,000 sq ft, will consist of a space for students of various levels to learn more about marine biology, biodiversity and ecology. For example, primary and secondary school students would be able to analyse water samples from Victoria Harbour to learn about pollution issues during school excursions."
“I think the maritime museum can’t continue to focus just on history, just on technology and naval architecture … we need to focus on the future and reach out to our future audience. It’s absolutely crucial that we use those three elements in the narratives we are going to tell,” he said in an interview on Tuesday.
