I was in an online meeting today with cheerful and wise migrant women who are all living in Switzerland. We came together after we read a book ``Kendine Ait`` which is translated as ``Belonging to Herself`` and we created an online circle together. I also would like to specially thanks to its Author ``Burcu Ozer Katmer`` https://www.linkedin.com/in/burcu-%C3%B6zer-katmer-81500a28/?originalSubdomain=ch

Burcu would like to give us a little gift for the International Women`s Day to remember our value of  existence in this world and she told us about correct breathing techniques as a certified trainer for the latest 10 years.  Every single day we are facing challenges, difficulties or problems to solve in our business and social lifes. But have you ever record how many breaths you take and give in one minute? Please record it today, one take and one give are considered as one breath. What I have exactly have is 34 breaths in one minute which is far more than the  ideal which is 6. This brings me to a point that I need some self awareness about my body, since how you breath is quite linked with your emotional status. After you record your timing, let me share a very basic technique how to achieve 6 breaths in one minute called Box-breathing technique - a scientifically approved method -  which also makes me relief and relaxed even in tense conditions.

Box breathing involves four basic steps, each lasting 4 seconds:

  1. breathing in
  2. holding the breath
  3. breathing out
  4. holding the breath

You can use it everywhere, in a cafe, in a bus, in a meeting or even when you are reading. If you make your brain teach this method, you can get some benefits in your life. Nobody has a magical strip in the hand, but if you can make this as a habit, your body starts to change.

  1. Reduces physical stress symptoms in the body
  2. Positively affects emotions and mental well being.
  3. Increases mental clarity, energy and focus
  4. Improve your reactions and create awareness how you need to act in a particular situation

So are you ready for the change and bring some self awareness to your life? Please start from the simplest thing in your life which we have been doing 21.000 times in every single day? I hope this can create a positive impact in your daily life, too. Good Luck!
