The Power of Writing by Hand

If you are like me, this year has certainly challenged our mental well-being with memory being one area that deserves some attention. I spent the last few months looking at project management tools, intuitive apps, and basic iOS checklists, all the while I have a drawer full of detailed, eye-appealing notebooks and organizers that I buy four of every year, use once and tuck away into the "organized Lauren" drawer never to be seen again. Well, I have dedicated one month to becoming disciplined to hand-writing my action list and then putting it into my online project management tool. THIS has helped me gain control of what needs to be done and remember details I was quickly forgetting relying on just my brain! I hope you find this article useful as well. Happy Writing! And if you can remember... remind yourself, you are doing GREAT! :)

If there is one scientifically-proven and replicable benefit of manual writing, it’s this: when you write something by hand you can improve your memory, and therefore your ability to recall information, through the process of encoding.
