Un nuevo fármaco podría cambiar la forma de tratar el cáncer

Los resultados del primer ensayo clínico en humanos del fármaco Omomyc, un nuevo medicamento contra el cáncer, han demostrado que tiene pocos efectos secundarios y es tolerable. Además, en algunos de los pacientes, se consigue estabilizar la enfermedad.

La Dra. Elena Garralda, directora de la Unidad de Investigación de Terapia Molecular del Cáncer (UITM) - CaixaResearch del VHIO, presentó los primeros resultados de este ensayo clínico en el 34º congreso EORTC-NCI-AACR (ENA), una de las citas más importantes a nivel mundial, celebrado en Barcelona del 26 al 28 de octubre.
