A Shared Music Experience for All

A company has developed a wearable haptic suit to allow Deaf and hard of hearing people to enjoy more of the vibrations from music. The company (Music: Not Impossible) is targeting the suit at everyone, providing a new way to enjoy music and create a shared experience regardless of your level of hearing.

I like that this solution is positioned as enhancing everyones music experience and therefore creating a shared experience, compared to providing a solution focused specifically on Deaf and hard of hearing people. Watching the video and responses from attendees, makes me want to try the suit. I hope this solution takes off and is offered at concerts globally.

The wearable includes two bands that go around your ankles, two wrist bands, and a backpack with straps that cross over your rib cage. The New York Times said wearing the suit feels like getting "a full-body bear hug from a massage chair."
