Do we really know the exposure and impact of plant protecting agents to our health and the environment?

SPRINT to present at United Nations General Assembly Science Summit (UNGA78)

This was an important and eye-opening UN-Science Summit!

Plant Protecting Agents are omnipresentas new analyses from humans and farm animals in Europe and Argentina show in more than 10 case studies. We don't know enough about the complex and diverse influences and exposures of these pesticides on the human health and on the environment. Relevant results for the evaluation of the reapproval of Glyphosate in the EU were discussed. If they are considered during the vote remains to be seen.

In general we have to take into account that it all comes back to us and we need a sustainable approach now and not more and wider use. Living in a healthy bubble is no longer possible as the residues of our actions are everywhere and can't be removed easily anymore. Let's start in a healthier direction for us and our planet today.

The SPRINT project will make an internationally valid contribution to assess integrated risks and impacts of pesticides on environment and human health, both at regional and European level. SPRINT will inform and accelerate the adoption of innovative transition pathways towards more sustainable plant protection in the context of a global health approach.
