Hope for humanity in the face of global warming rests in our ability to unite and take decisive action. Awareness of the climate crisis is growing, leading to stronger global commitments and policy changes aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Technological advancements in renewable energy and sustainable practices offer promising solutions, while individual choices and community efforts contribute to a collective impact. The youth-led climate movement has brought a new level of urgency to the issue, demanding immediate action and accountability. Our capacity for innovation, adaptation, and cooperation gives us the potential to mitigate the worst effects of climate change and build a sustainable future for all.
In 2022, human-induced warming surpassed 1.25C for the first time. The year 2023 was even hotter. If you take an average over a decade – a measure used in the IPCC's sixth assessment report – the figure for human-induced warming between 2013 and 2022 was 1.14C.
