White Cane Day 2021 - The Cane Explained

Sight loss is an invisible disability and for many there is a need for those around them to know they have sight loss. The white cane comes in many forms, sometime just to let people know you have a visual impairment, other canes are there to help with navigation.

This short video and linked article explain the different canes and why they are used.

"I would like for the public to have a general awareness of the cane and to know that it does not mean one particular thing or define the person relying on it." - Robert, long cane user.
