To meet carbon limit targets, existing uses of fossil fuel at coalfired power plants, Industries, vehicles and even agriculture are need to be considered. It is not easy but we have no choice as well to keep this only planet sustainable for our next generation, invest in renewable energy and reduce existing sources of greenhouse gases.
The Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says a target of global net zero - where a country is not adding to the overall amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere - by 2050 is the minimum needed to keep the temperature rise at 1.5C. And more than 130 countries have publicly promised to meet this. But India is not yet among them.
