Celebrate Diversity - Save Lives - Moments of Kindness - Improve Personal Well-Being

Viva Fiesta!  Fiesta San Antonio started in 1891 as a one-parade event to honor the memory of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto and has grown into a celebration of San Antonio’s rich and diverse cultures.  Funds raised by official Fiesta events provide services to San Antonio citizens throughout the year.

In keeping with the Fiesta spirit, Intertek Automotive Research sponsored a Blood Drive on its Campus.  Eighteen units of lifesaving blood were donated and donors were given the South Texas Blood Bank Fiesta medal!  (Fiesta Medals are collector’s items)

Thousands of patients need blood every year.  Blood donations make it possible for patients to fight traumatic injury and Cancer.   One unit of donated blood can save up to three lives.

This year, the United States is facing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade.  Creating moments of kindness during a time of need does wonders for your mental health and feeling of well-being.

Seventeen-year-old Noah was diagnosed with cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic. He needed blood donations during and after surgery, and may need more as he undergoes chemotherapy treatment.
