Working on the self internally is imperative for good mental health.

When reflecting and evaluating on  the internal self, it requires stripping the layers of armour that has been built up over a period of time, in some cases, years.

How to Strip off those Layers?

Using external help for unresolved and hidden conflicts, can be daunting at first, but can be the solution to bring closure on events, which have been some kind of hindrance in our lives.

A friend of mine introduced me to EFT 'Tapping' to manage some 'troublesome' events. I was absolutely amazed at the quick and effective results it delivered. It is beneficial to have a few sessions.

If you are adamant that you don't want external help, there are techniques which can be the foundation of healing.

Journal Writing

Buy yourself a notepad, list all the problems which you believe is having an effect in your life - even the ones which are niggling and grumbling under the surface and note it down.

Then using a method I created myself, I call it 'ACT'

ACKNOWLEDGE  - There's an issue

CONFRONT    -       Face the issue

TERMINATE    -      Closure of the issue

So you've acknowledged the problem, how do you take the next step?

Write about it in your journal, question yourself, how does it affect your life?

What can you do to change the affect?

Is it a person who has had a hand in the problem?  Write a letter, explaining how they affected you and what you think of them, have a rant!  Go in!  Then burn it! Do not send it! Let's diminish their hold or their importance and that's where 'TERMINATE' comes in.

Elimination of the 'external pests' which are contributing to the problem. Think about their role in your life...do they need to still be in it? What's their purpose for being there and how does it make you feel? This is where your evaluation and reflection comes in.

After you get rid of the surplus - the work begins! Watch out for Part 2!
