Celebrating Singapore's 57th Birthday

On 9 August 1965, Singapore separated from the Federation of Malaysia and officially became an independent and sovereign state. Singaporeans awoke to a new beginning. True to its national anthem, "Majulah Singapura" which means "Onward Singapore" – it encapsulates its people’s hopes and spirit as a nation.

Every August, Singaporeans display the national flag, patriotic songs fill the airwaves, people wear red and white and the anticipated National Day Parade takes place.

Hence, on 1 Aug 2022, our Intertek family gathered at the Tai Seng office to pre-celebrate Singapore’s 57th birthday, in a commemoration that values unity in diversity and appreciates return to normal following the pandemic.

Colleagues from different divisions joined together to experience the “Singapura Vibes” and enjoyed the light refreshments served. Everyone expressed their patriotism by being dressed in their best red and white outfits in a tribute to the Singapore spirit.

The mini celebration reminds us that unity in our diversity is what makes all of us stronger. Let’s strive for a better future and continue to grow from strength to strength as we emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Majulah Singapura, Majulah Intertek.”
