Zipline is one company set to hit the "go" button, and Wing (owned by Google parent, Alphabet) is also scaling up.
Don't be alarmed when you see them. It's just your friendly delivery driver now in complete robot mode.
Using electric drones — instead of humans driving 3,000-pound gasoline vehicles — to deliver packages weighing as little as five pounds is expected to be faster, cheaper and better for the planet.
