Parents are the primary influence/source for raising their children to be inclusive, empathetic, and culturally accepting, and I feel no different about my responsibilities as a father. One thing that might get overlooked is the role that brands play in the development of social preferences, especially when "research indicates that the average young person views over 3,000 ads per day across various mediums such as television, print media, billboards, and the internet".

Products such as books, toys, media, and resources can influence children’s attitudes and beliefs about race, disabilities, and/or identity. Without exposure to individuals from different backgrounds or circumstances, children are less likely to develop empathy or see the world from someone else's perspective.

We all need to do our parts to help make this a better world for our children and the next generation.
