True circularity for items such as backpacks has been challenging because all the parts (plastic components, fabrics, metal zippers, etc) have to be separated in order to be recycled.
A few companies, however, have figured out how to design and manufacture the entire product and all its components from a single material -- it's the same recycled PET used to make water bottles.
