My Thoughts on Playing with Lego Braille Bricks

After the announcement of the Lego Braille Bricks (Lego release Braille Bricks for use at Home) I promptly pre-ordered a set. I am a big Lego fan and have been trying to improve my Braille for some time. The set arrived in a tactile box with braille with the set name and guidance to scan the QR code. The experience is completely accessible to a person who is blind with an embossed content sheet detailing the bricks and the quantity of them.

My kids were as excited as I was about the new lego and soon started spelling their names in braille. It is great to be able to encourage them to learn braille while playing. They have played with the set more than I have, which is great.

I hope to see families not touched by sight-loss, purchasing and learning braille through the Lego Braille Bricks. There is nothing quite like the first time you read the braille on a lift button and understand it.

The Lego Group started shipping their Lego Braille Bricks (40656) to consumers on the 1st of September 2023 amidst widespread excitement. My set has arrived, and I wanted to provide a short Lego Braille Bricks review.
