Nonprofit Diverts an Ocean Plastic Tide, Removing 2 Million Pounds of Trash From Waterways

In a monumental effort, the TerraCycle Global Foundation combats the ocean's plastic tide, extracting a staggering 2 million pounds of trash from waterways. This dedicated endeavor not only cleanses marine habitats but also raises awareness about the critical need for environmental stewardship. By mobilizing volunteers and employing innovative cleanup technologies, the nonprofit exemplifies the collective power of individuals and organizations to address the global plastic pollution crisis. Their commitment to ocean conservation inspires hope and underscores the urgent imperative to protect our seas for future generations.

Since its founding, the nonprofit organization has targeted ocean pollution right at its source—waterways. When polluted, they send waste directly to oceans, harming sea life and the environment. Over 1000 tons have been diverted and recycled.
