Why people join in Book Clubs?

I love reading as always since childhood! Learning new cultures,  getting into exciting adventures, trying to solve the murder cases, predicting the end of the stories, learning new biographies, true stories and more. Every book brings you to a different world. But why do we get enrolled in Book clubs? Personally I am a member of a book club since one year and in the beginning of the year, we select our books to read and every month we come together in a classroom that we rent and start the session with a small meditation and introduction of ourselves and our dreams (see some photos regarding our meditation ceremony: just light a candle, start hitting to Tibetan Bell, 5 minute silence for a good focus, some chill out music from back and start the book discussion)

It makes me feel very good and that`s why I would like to raise this to you maybe it can trigger your enthusiasm to be a member of such a community or even you can create it. This is also scientifically approved that these initiatives have many advantages according to a Harvard Business Review.

  1. Book clubs make it easier to commit to systematic reading habits.
  2. Read more deeply and better understand diverse perspectives
  3. Build and reinforce relationships
  4. Comfortable and confident in professional discussions

Book clubs are booming. And with the leadership benefits of reading so clearly known, businesspeople who want to grow personally and professionally would be wise to take advantage of the trend. These groups can help you become a better reader, commit to reading, grow relationships, learn from diverse perspectives, and become a better conversationalist. They can be good for the mind, good for leadership, and good for business.
