World’s biggest solar farm goes online

Renewable energy is definitely in the spotlight in China, where some of the world's largest energy-producing projects have been built. Recently a new 5GW solar plant (now the world's largest) that is built on an area the size of New York City, went online and is capable of producing over 6 billion kilowatt-hours annually. 

“China accounts for almost 60 per cent of new renewable capacity expected to become operational globally by 2028,” the report stated.
