Ah, vacation! It's something we dream of, we look forward to, and we reminisce about afterwards.

Time away from work lowers our stress levels, recharges our batteries (physically and mentally), and helps our brain function better (yes, really!). 

Even just looking forward to a future reward (like a vacation) can be even more rewarding than the reward itself. This is so thanks to a small molecule called dopamine.
