The importance of stretching

As we get older and most of us become more sedentary in our lives, (sitting too much at work, long commutes, air travel etc.) our muscles become ever increasingly tight.

Incorporating more daily stretching has been a New Years resolution of mine for years. Eventually it becomes part of a daily routine.

Stretching, even a just a few minutes a day, can be very beneficial. Give it a try.

(P.S. This goes for your muscles and your mind)

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.
