Coquitlam is writing its first urban forest plan. It wants help

Coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada is inviting residents, nature enthusiasts, and all those passionate about green spaces to join in shaping the future of our urban forests.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in promoting sustainability, biodiversity, and community well-being. By collaboratively developing a comprehensive urban forest plan, Coquitlam aims to enhance the health and resilience of our green spaces while preserving their natural beauty for generations to come.

So, how can you get involved? Whether you're a tree hugger, a wildlife advocate, or simply someone who loves spending time outdoors, your input is invaluable. Share your ideas, concerns, and vision for Coquitlam's urban forests through surveys, public consultations, and community workshops.

Together, we can create a plan that reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of our community, ensuring that our urban forests remain vibrant, accessible, and sustainable.

Until May 31, Coquitlam residents and groups are invited to fill out an online survey that asks about the benefits of having an urban forest and what threats it faces like new roads, climate change and development.
