Rare Beauty Made Accessible Initiative

Growing up as a desi girl, makeup has always been central to celebrations and gatherings, but personally, I’ve always leaned towards a more natural, lightweight look that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin. Recently, I’ve found myself falling in love with Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez. What draws me in is not just the high quality of the makeup itself, but also the story behind it. Selena is a true icon, overcoming personal challenges to become a powerful figure, and her journey speaks volumes.

Rare Beauty's philosophy resonates with me on another level—especially their commitment to sustainability. As much as I love beautiful packaging, it’s refreshing to see a brand that prioritizes minimal, eco-conscious packaging over flashy designs. It’s about more than just aesthetics; it’s about the impact, and Rare Beauty gets that right. Their Rare Beauty Made Accessible Initiative is also something that stands out to me. I recently came across a study highlighting how this initiative has made makeup accessible to people with disabilities, and it is truly inspiring to see how a beauty brand is actively working to empower everyone to feel confident and beautiful.

If you haven’t yet explored this incredible study or Selena’s mission-driven brand, I highly recommend checking out the full case study here and visiting the Rare Beauty website to learn more about their sustainable initiatives. It’s more than just makeup—it’s a movement towards inclusivity and sustainability!

The Made Accessible Initiative has several goals: First, we're partnering with the Casa Colina Research Institute to figure out what makes a product more accessible. We plan to use that information for future packaging decisions and make it widely available to the beauty industry so they might do the same.
