The 18th of May is Global Accessibility Awareness Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of digital accessibility.

What is Digital Accessibility?

Every user deserves a first-rate digital experience on the web. Someone with a disability must be able to experience web-based services, content and other digital products with the same successful outcome as those without disabilities. This awareness and commitment to inclusion is the goal of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), a global event that shines a light on digital access and inclusion for people with disabilities. There is always a focus on making websites and applications more accessible, and they need to be. But there are also actions available for all of us to embed in our daily tasks to become more inclusive and accessible.

There are lots of resources available, but sometimes it is daunting on which to look at first and where to start, so I have created my own blog post to track the best resources I come across and help others on their accessibility awareness journey.

Visit Where do I start with Accessibility? for a curated list of accessibility resources.
