Here in the UK, there are parents everywhere scramling to sort costumes for their kids to wear for World Book Day on the 7th of March. World Book Day is celebrated in over one hundred countries with the purpose of providing free or low cost access to books and encourage reading.

After sorting out our kids' costumes and getting one of this year's free books, it got me wondering how people with print disabilities (e.g. sight loss, dyslexia) are included. A quick search identified that RNIB have ensured all World Book Day books are available in Braille and Audio format for free to those with print disabilities. It is fantastic to see that everyone can take part in World Book Day and are not isolated through barriers and disabilities.

An interesting fact I heard recently, is that whether you read the book or listen to it in audio format, it uses the same part of the brain. So, are you reading or listening to a book this World Book Day?
