A Blind Model Just Made History At Copenhagen Fashion Week

Lucy Edwards became the first blind model at Copenhagen Fashion week with support from Anna Cofone from Hair and Care, modelling for Sinead O'Dwyer's new collection.

Read Hair and Care Project to understand the fantastic work Anna does to help blind girls and women with their hair care.

This video from Lucy does a far better job than I can do of explaining the process and how it worked on the day.

This is a great step forward, we need to see more representation of disabled people in all aspects of life.

The dream is to work with the British Fashion Council and be the voice that helps brands to be accessible for blind and low-vision people,” Cofone adds of this life-altering if not culture-shifting project. “The women and young girls who come to our workshops leave feeling changed. Less isolated, empowered to take on a more visible role in public life. It’s about giving people a purpose, confidence and a chance to harness their identities
